Krysta Jones serves as the Director of the Virginia Promise Partnership, where she leads the Partnership’s comprehensive efforts toward our goal of access to affordable, quality child care for all Virginia families by 2030. Her responsibilities include working with partner organizations and stakeholders in the development of the Partnership’s strategic plan and cost estimate, serving as the voice of the coalition in media and government relations efforts, and overseeing expansion of the grassroots advocacy network.
Krysta has extensive experience and expertise in grassroots organizing, political advocacy, and community engagement. Identifying the need for more diverse voices in elected office, she founded Vote Lead Impact, an organization which trains future Black political candidates and leaders in media relations, grassroots operations, and civic engagement. She also successfully represented two national associations, advocating for women’s and economic rights issues before policymakers at the state and federal level.
She previously served as the Director of Outreach for two Members of Congress. In that role, she designed outreach strategies, developed relationships with community leaders, and helped communicate their legislative agendas.
Krysta is a graduate of The George Washington University School of Political Management, the Sorensen Institute of Political Leadership, and the Women’s Campaign School at Yale. She currently lives in Arlington, Virginia, where she is active in local politics and civic life.
